If Any Man Love God

1 Corinthians 8:3
But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

Known of God

If anyone loves God, that person is known of the LORD. Doesn’t God know everybody? After all, He created all of us, didn’t He? Yes, He did. But, according to this verse, He evidently doesn’t know everybody. Jesus said that some who called Him “Lord, Lord”, who had done wonderful things in His name, would be told “Depart from Me, I never knew you.”

This verse tells us that God knows those who love Him. Doesn’t everyone love God? Quite the contrary. There are multitudes in this world who hate God. But there are many who do love Him.

The Giving of Thanks

There are several ways that love for God is demonstrated. One way is by knowing His word and keeping it. Another way is by the giving of thanks. The Bible speaks much about giving thanks to the LORD, thanking Him for all that He has done, thanking Him for His goodness toward us.

Take some time to give thanks to the LORD today. Take your mind off your problems for a while, and just simply tell Him how good He is, and how thankful you are that He is in your life. Let your heart become filled with thanksgiving and gratitude toward Him. It will change your day for the better. As the old hymn says, "Count your blessings. Name them one by one." And your love for Him will begin to demonstrate itself in heartfelt praise.
