Peace and Prosperity

Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

The Word of God

This book of the law, or this word of God, shall not depart out of your mouth. In other words, keep the word of God in your thoughts and in your words. Think about it. Talk about it. Meditate in it day and night.

What does meditate mean?

Biblical meditation means to ponder the word of God, to turn it over in your thinking, and contemplate its meaning.

How to Meditate on the Word of God

The best way to meditate on the word is to write down a Scripture verse, and then write down what it means to you, and write down questions about it that come to mind. Ponder those questions and follow whatever leads come up in your thinking. Write down what comes to you. Turn over every stone, and find the hidden treasure.

Words for Success

Then thou shalt make thy way prosperous. When? When you meditate in the word of God day and night. What does meditation do? It allows us to ponder the word of God until we begin to hear the LORD speaking to our hearts. Then He leads us into prosperity and success in the things we do.

What does Prosperity Mean?

The word translated “prosperous” in this passage means to advance oneself, to make progress, to succeed. It simply means to be successful at what we do, instead of failing.

Meditate on the word of God today. If we do so, God promises that we will prosper in all we set our hands to do.
