Heirs of Promise

Genesis 12:1-2
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

Abraham

Abram, who was later named Abraham, is the father of our faith, and the Bible tells us that we walk in the footsteps of Abraham’s faith. The LORD had told Abram, or Abraham, to get out from his kindred, to a land that God would show him. And he obeyed God, with the promise that the LORD would make him great, and would bless him to be a blessing.

The Seed of Abraham

The Bible tells us in Galatians 3:29 that “And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” According to the word of God, we are the seed of Abraham to which all the promises were made. We are the heirs of the promises God made to Abraham.

Abraham Believed God

But, as Abraham had to do, we, his seed, must also do, and that is, we must receive the promises of God by faith. The Bible tells us that “. . . Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” We too must believe the promises of God to receive them.

Stir up your faith up today to believe God. You are the seed of Abraham, the heir of God’s promises. Lay hold of them today by faith.
