Planted in His House

Psalm 92:13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
Psalm 92:14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

Transplanted

The Bible places an emphasis on being planted. The word translated as “planted” here also carries the meaning of being “transplanted.” The Bible says that God has delivered us from the power of darkness, or the kingdom of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His Dear Son. The word “translated” carries the idea of being moved from one place to another. God has moved us out of one kingdom and has planted us into the kingdom of His Son.

The House of the LORD

But this verse says, “planted in the house of the LORD.” The house of the LORD, of course, is not a brick and mortar building, but rather a spiritual house made up of living stones, built together as a holy habitation to the LORD. You might say that the house of God, the spiritual house, meets in a natural building we call a church.

Why Fellowship?

Some may feel that, if the house of God is spiritual, then why do I need to go to a natural building that men have built with their hands? It’s because that’s where the spiritual house, the living stones, can be found. God puts an emphasis of fellowshipping with other believers. There is strength in being around others of like precious faith, a divine strengthening that can only be obtained through fellowship.

The Blessing

This passage in Psalm 92 tells us that those who plant themselves in a congregation of believers, those who are going on in God, in God’s house, “shall flourish in the courts of our God.” They will bring forth fruit in old age, and will be greatly blessed.

If you are not in regular fellowship with other believers, then find a place of worship that can give you that fellowship. The Bible says for us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together. There is great and lasting benefit to godly fellowship.
