Righteousness that Endures

Psalm 112:3
Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Sufficiency in His House

This is the third verse in the Psalm of the Blessed Man, Psalm 112. Verse one says that blessed is the man who fears the LORD, and delights greatly in His commandments.

Verse three tells us that wealth and riches shall be in his house, the meanings of which are riches, material substance, and sufficiency. This man has more than enough of whatever is needed. The notion that believers are supposed to be poor and needy is a foreign concept to the Bible.

The Fruit of Righteousness

The verse goes on to say that his righteousness endures forever, or, that is to say, the fruit of his righteous acts is steadfast and enduring. The FRUIT of his righteous acts. Blessing is always coming his way, because of his righteous acts. He is one who acts on the word of God, and enduring fruit is created in his life as the result. Another verse of this same Psalm says that this man has dispersed his substance and has given to the poor. So, it's clear that giving to and blessing others is a part of his lifestyle.

Bless and be Blessed

In fact, giving to bless and help others is one of the ways that kingdom prosperity and sufficiency work. Jesus said to give, and it shall be given unto you. He told us to lay up treasure in heaven by the giving of alms. The Apostle Paul also taught on the subject of giving and receiving, saying that whatsoever a man sows, that also shall he reap.

Near and Dear to God’s Heart

Wealth and riches are in this man’s house, but they can be traced to his obedience to do the righteous acts that are near and dear to the LORD’s heart, to give to those who are less fortunate than himself, to help the poor, in his obedience to God’s command to show mercy, and to give. The Bible tells us that whoever considers the poor lends to the LORD, and that He shall repay.

Begin to make it an ongoing habit of giving to the three things that are near and dear to the LORD’s heart; the Church, the advancing of the Gospel in the earth, and the poor and needy. Giving to these things will always produces an enduring harvest of blessing in return.
