In Thee Do I Trust

Psalm 143:8
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Guidance

Many look to the LORD for guidance each day. The good news is that He has promised to lead us and protect us. He has said that He would never leave us nor forsake us. So, we always have hope in Him.

He is with Us

Sometimes it’s difficult to recognize the LORD’s presence and involvement in our situation. It often feels that He is nowhere to be found. Yet, nothing could be further from the truth. He has promised that He would be with us always, and the Bible says that God cannot lie. So, if our feelings lead us to believe that God is not with us, then our feelings are giving us a wrong impression.

Cause Me to Know the Way

In Psalm 143:8, the Psalmist asks the LORD to cause him to know the way in which he should walk, because He is lifting his soul up to the LORD. Sometimes that is all we are missing in our situation, that is, lifting our soul, our thoughts, our prayers, up to the LORD, in search of direction from Him.

A Way of Escape

Rather than crying and complaining to the LORD about how bad the situation is, because He already knows, maybe we should simply ask Him in faith for guidance through the situation. The Bible tells us that He always makes a way of escape in every trial. If we could just bring ourselves to believe that, and release faith in that through prayer, then getting to the other side would not be such a struggle. We could be in peace while passing through the valley.

Trust in the LORD’s lovingkindness today. Bring your situation to Him in prayer, believing that He will give you the wisdom needed to walk through it with His divine guidance. And, as the Bible tells us, let the peace of God rule and reign in your heart ever step of the way. Victory is guaranteed, for He always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus.
